ENSAE Paris - École d'ingénieurs pour l'économie, la data science, la finance et l'actuariat

Statistics

The Statistics department brings together researchers in mathematical statistics and data science in the following areas: high-dimensional statistics, statistical learning, learning and game theory, Bayesian statistics, computational statistics and simulation methods, process statistics, statistical network analysis, dimension reduction, optimal transport for machine learning, fairness and privacy.
Statistics

The professors of the Statistics Department are involved in

  • ENSAE's engineering cycle courses
  • Advanced masters
  • The research masters of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, in particular Data science, Mathematics of randomness-Statistics and machine learning (with the University of Paris-Saclay), Mathematics of vision and learning (with the University of Paris-Saclay), Statistics, Finance and Actuarial Science (with Centrale Supélec)
  • The PhD track and the PhD in Mathematics at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris

The Statistics department also welcomes CNRS researchers assigned to CREST and affiliated researchers. It supervises doctoral students, within the framework of the Hadamard Mathematics doctoral school (EDMH), co-accredited by the Paris PI and the University of Paris-Saclay, and welcomes post-doctoral students and international visiting professors giving doctoral courses (see the CREST website).

The professors and researchers of the Statistics Department interact with mathematicians from the École Polytechnique and the other schools of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris within the Mathematics Department of IP Paris. They are part of the University Research School "Data Science for Economics, Finance and Management" and the interdisciplinary center "Hi! Paris" in artificial intelligence and data science, shared by IP Paris and HEC Paris. Within CREST, they interact with the other divisions, which use the statistical and data science methods developed in the statistics division in their fields. Finally, they are involved in international research collaboration networks.
