11 Jun. 2021

The Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) has entered the Top 50 in the 2022 ranking of the world's best universities published by QS, ranking 49th. IP Paris is ranked 15th worldwide in terms of the reputation of its graduates among employers.

This recognition of the excellence of its five founding schools - École polytechnique, ENSTA Paris, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris and Télécom SudParis - puts IP Paris in the top 4% of the 1,300 universities worldwide ranked by QS.

Two years after its creation, following the initiative of President Emmanuel Macron, IP Paris has become a major player and a reference on the French and international scene of higher education and research institutions.

"The recognition of IP Paris as a world-class institution of higher education and research upon its entry into the QS ranking of the world's best universities is the result of the commitment and involvement of all the teams of its founding members. It is an encouragement to all those involved in this success."

ERIC LABAYE, PRESIDENT OF THE INSTITUT POLYTECHNIQUE DE PARIS

The Institute ranks second among the 32 French institutions ranked by QS, behind the Université Paris Sciences et Lettres (44th) and ahead of Sorbonne Université (72nd).

IP Paris' performance is based on a student supervision rate that is among the best in the world and a very strong international outlook, both in the recruitment of its students and of its faculty and researchers.

As a result, the Institute ranks 32nd in the world in terms of student enrollment, 40% of whom are international. The teaching and research staff is also very open to the world, with 38% of teachers and researchers recruited internationally.

The podium of the QS ranking is occupied by MIT, Oxford and Stanford.
