Academic partnerships with universities take two forms.

Some Research Masters programs are accredited jointly by a university, ENSAE and possibly other "Grandes écoles". This is the highest level of involvement for ENSAE, as it implies taking part in the selection of students, as well as orienting the program's contents in terms of the courses offered. ENSAE students can follow the Master's program during the last year of study at ENSAE. All students from the program have access to courses located in either institution. A significant number of courses of the program take place at ENSAE.

Other Research Master programs, although run by a university, are under agreement with ENSAE. Such agreements allow ENSAE students to follow the Master's program during the last year of study at ENSAE. All students from the program have access to courses located in either institution. Some courses of the program take place at ENSAE.

In all cases, Research Masters run jointly with ENSAE are selected on the basis of their excellent academic standards.
